DENTURES

The-importance-of-having-strong-teeth.jp

In the absence of many teeth, a denture is possible solution. Given that a denture is removable and often unstable in function, we can use various techniques to improve retention and stabilisation of the prosthesis and consequently, provide greater comfort.

There are different types of dentures

For edentulus patients

FULL DENTURE

The most economic solution, although effective only in cases of sufficient jaw bone ridge has the downsides of questionable long term stability, promotes bone loss and reduced taste sensitivity.

REMOVABLE DENTURE ON IMPLANTS

2 implants in the lower jaw "hold" the prosthesis in place and prevent its movement. It is better and more comfortable solution compared to a simple full denture, but as it promotes partial bone loss, should be eventually upgraded to a removable denture with bar.

REMOVABLE DENTURE

WITH BAR ON IMPLANTS

4 implants are connected with a bar which entiarly supports the denture. This provides with a "feeling of true teeth", while allowing a smiple hygiene mantainance. The denture takes up less surface area, giving much more comfort fo the patient.

When few healthy teeth are stil present

PARTIAL CAST BASE DENTURE WITH ATTACHMENTS

Metal fused to ceramic bonded crowns are made on at least 4 of the remaining teeth. Special attachments are placed, connecting the prosthesis with the crowns and so, providing stability and aesthetic appearance.

PARTIAL CAST BASE DENTURE WITH CLAMPS

The most simple and economical solution with most often unsatisfactory aesthetics due to visible metal clamps that "hold" the prosthesis in place.

In case of multiple teeth extractions we always make a temporary denture in advance so that you leave the office with a temporary solution that will help you in the healing period.
